Fashion illustrations from the 1970s by D. ‘Jame

These drawings come from the collection of Michael Thomas, an artist based in Chicago. Thomas found the drawings at a thrift store in Chicago, located on Broadway Avenue near Devon. There are thirty-four drawings dated from 1970-77. No other information about D. ‘Jame is known.

These drawings will be presented, in Chicago, along with other collections by Public Collectors participants, in the exhibition Archiving Impulse at Gallery 400 at University of Illinois at Chicago (400 S. Peoria). The show runs from November 4 - December 17, 2011. A free booklet on D. ‘Jame’s drawings will be available at the exhibition.
